YouTube’s looking to help inspire creators with new ideas, via three new additions to its “Inspiration” tab in YouTube Studio that aim to streamline the creative ideation process.

YouTube renamed the “Research” tab in YouTube Studio to “Inspiration” last June, and has since added a range of generative AI tools to the feature, in order to help creators maximize their content performance.

And now, it’s looking to expand on them once again, with a couple of elements that stretch beyond the tab itself.

First up is “Brainstorm from anywhere,” a new option that aims to make it easier to use your past videos, and video comments, as inspiration for your concepts.

As you can see in this example, now, you’ll be able to access a new “Brainstorm video ideas” option in any section, which will then provide prompts and guidance based on that element.

As explained by YouTube:

“Creators often find inspiration for their next video while reviewing performance data or audience comments in YouTube Studio, so we’re integrating comments and data from past videos to create a more fluid and intuitive process.”

The second new inspiration element is called “Hooks,” which will provide AI-powered hook suggestions to help creators capture attention.

With this, you’ll be able to input your ideas for a video, and have YouTube help you come up with more engaging approaches to that topic or subject.

Which could make it easier to create more engaging videos, even if it does feel like it’ll end up making more videos the same in the app.

Finally, YouTube’s also testing “Quick saves,” which, as it sounds, will enable creators to save ideas directly from the idea list in YouTube Studio.

So now, as you peruse the ideas that YouTube has suggested as potential concepts for your future videos, you’ll also be able to save any of these concepts to return to later.

The suggestions here are powered by YouTube’s improving content recommendation AI, which is based on YouTube trends, so it could be a valuable guide to help you drive more interest.

Though again, it does feel a little less creative, and a little derivative, which tends to not be the way to spark truly great concepts. But it depends on your aims, and if you’re intending to maximize your YouTube performance, as opposed to creating an original concept or work, then these suggestions will likely prove valuable.

YouTube says that these new elements are all being tested in the “Inspiration” tab in YouTube Studio.

On another front, YouTube has also reminded creators that it’s currently offering a deal with Repurpose.io, which gives creators free access to the Repurpose app, through which they can upload their catalog of short-form videos from other platforms, and re-post them to YouTube.

Which is YouTube’s way to get more TikTok creators across to Shorts, amid the ongoing confusion about TikTok’s future in the U.S.

“YouTube creators who are new to Repurpose.io can redeem three free months and link their TikTok and Instagram Pages for seamless sharing to YouTube Shorts.”

Repurpose.io

YouTube first announced this offer last month, and with TikTok’s extended U.S. deal timeline set to expire this week, YouTube’s taking the opportunity to remind creators that they can easily port their content across via this process.
