Puma, the renowned German sportswear and footwear brand, has entered into an official partnership with the Premier League, taking over from Nike in several pivotal roles within the world’s most-watched football league.

In a statement, Puma outlined that the agreement aligns with its strategic objectives to elevate the brand’s stature and enhance its credibility in the realm of sports performance.

This groundbreaking partnership will designate Puma as the Premier League’s official ball supplier, responsible for providing match balls for all league games starting with the 2025/26 season in August.

As part of this partnership, Puma will collaborate with the Premier League on various initiatives, ranging from community-focused football programs aimed at developing grassroots talent to impactful marketing campaigns and events, including the Premier League Summer Series, set to take place in the United States this July.

Puma CEO Arne Freundt stated that the partnership with the Premier League, the world’s most-watched football league, represents a significant milestone in the company’s strategy to elevate its brand.

Freundt expressed enthusiasm about showcasing Puma’s performance technology at the heart of the game and engaging with the league’s global fanbase. He emphasised that, with Puma’s ball taking centre stage in every match of this extraordinary league, the company aims to create unforgettable experiences for both players and fans worldwide.

Prior to Puma, the official Premier League match ball supplier was held by its American competitor, Nike.

Puma has firmly established its presence in the Premier League through its official partnership with Manchester City, the league’s reigning champions. Despite this prominent collaboration, the company finds itself positioned in fifth place in the standings, trailing behind the current league leaders, Liverpool.

Furthermore, Puma boasts an impressive roster of Premier League stars, including Jack Grealish from Manchester City, Kai Havertz of Arsenal, James Maddison representing Tottenham Hotspur, Harry Maguire from Manchester United, Jordan Pickford of Everton, and Marc Cucurella from Chelsea. Additionally, Puma’s FG football boot, featuring the distinctive Formstrip design, famously worn by the legendary Diego Maradona, is widely regarded as one of history’s most iconic football boots.

Richard Masters, Chief Executive of the Premier League, expressed his excitement in welcoming Puma as the league’s official ball supplier. He highlighted Puma’s longstanding legacy in football and conveyed anticipation for introducing the new ball across all matches starting this summer.

Masters emphasised that Puma’s global influence and dedication to excellence resonate with the Premier League’s values. He expressed enthusiasm about collaborating on various initiatives aimed at advancing impactful community work and inspiring fans across the globe.

Established in 1948 by Rudolf Dassler in Herzogenaurach, Germany, Puma operates in over 120 countries worldwide. The company generates nearly €9 billion in annual revenue and employs approximately 20,000 individuals.

This partnership marks an exciting new chapter for Puma and the Premier League, bringing innovative opportunities to the football world. As the league continues to captivate audiences globally, Puma’s contributions promise to enrich the game, creating unforgettable moments for players and fans alike. The journey begins this summer!
