In a strategic move to enter Mexico, Chipotle Mexican Grill has partnered with Alsea, S.A.B. de C.V., a prominent restaurant operator across Latin America and Europe. The collaboration will see Chipotle’s first Mexican location open by early 2026, with exciting potential for growth into other vibrant Latin American markets.
Chipotle’s Chief Business Development Officer, Nate Lawton, expressed confidence in the Mexican market, stating, “The country’s familiarity with our ingredients and affinity for fresh food make it an attractive growth market for our company.”
Alsea’s Chief Executive Officer, Armando Torrado, added, “We are proud to work with an iconic brand like Chipotle and help grow its international business for years to come.” He also stated that the development agreement with Chipotle will allow the company to “continue to leverage our vast knowledge of the Mexican consumer and restaurant industry expertise to bring our customers the best food experiences and brands from around the world.”
