Activity-tracking platform Strava is rolling out a new set of activity categories, including some of the most-requested from its community. Here’s what’s new.
Strava says there are more activity categories to come
Today, Strava is adding five new activity types to its platform, including:
- Basketball
- Cricket
- Dance
- Padel
- Volleyball
This, according to the company, will give its “180M+ global users more accurate ways to log the activities they already love.”
Previously, users who practiced any of these five activities had to log them under the generic “Workout” option, but now they’ll be able to track their performance more accurately, alongside the more than 50 sport types already supported.
Strava says that padel is a particularly noteworthy addition given its rapid global growth, with an estimated 30 million amateur players.
The company also said that it plans to add more sports and activities in the future, but did not detail which or when users should expect them.
