EZVIZ, a smart home brand specialising in security solutions, has announced the release of its Y3000FVP Plus premium smart lock, designed with facial recognition and palm vein recognition.

The Y3000FVP Plus features a range of new features, including an new design and multiple unlocking methods. The device combines ease of access and top level security for property owners, the company says.

Grant Chen, Vice President of EZVIZ, said the new premium smart lock “uses the most cutting-edge technology to protect what matters most.”

EZVIZ, a China-based company, has recently entered the Middle East market, tapping into growing local demand for smart home solutions and aims to address what it says are local, complex user experiences. Its smart lock is designed to offer innovation and security with an app, initially in the Middle East and further worldwide.

The Y3000FVP Plus features two unlocking methods. Using localised 3D data processing, the smart lock can detect users’ faces, adapting to different light conditions. It can identify faces from between 1.2m and 2m away, picking up their features regardless of whether the subject is wearing makeup or glasses, has a changed hairstyle, or is wearing different accessories.

Its palm vein recognition software is claimed to be resistant to spoofing, and is designed for individuals who may be wearing masks or carrying items that obscure the user’s face. Both unlocking methods are powered by a 12nm AI chip and dual-core CPU, for fast recognition.

The lock is also designed with multiple access options, including the use of passcodes for guest use, fingerprint scanning, and an app that can control unlocking remotely.

Its anti-theft features include an automatic siren which deters tampering. Unauthorised access is blocked via a C-grade cylinder, and long complex passwords can be generated to protect against any guessed login attempts.

Another new design feature is the Y3000FVP Plus 1080p camera, which has night vision and wide viewing capability. When movement is detected, users will receive an alert and can review events recorded by the camera.
