Ernst & Young (EY) has expanded its alliance with SymphonyAI, pushing the partnership into manufacturing and supply chain intelligence.
Manufacturers have already proven AI can cut waste on one production line or flag a failing asset in one plant. Repeating that result across twenty sites, three countries, and a dozen legacy systems is another exercise altogether.
EY’s answer, according to its own announcement, is to fold SymphonyAI’s industrial AI platform directly into two existing offerings: the EY manufacturing and operations transformation practice and EY.ai Value Blueprints.
“Organisations don’t need more AI pilots, they need results,” says Rodrigo Cambiaghi, Digital Operations Leader at Ernst & Young LLP. “Expanding our alliance with SymphonyAI brings proven industrial AI capabilities directly into our transformation programs.
“Combined with EY sector depth and EY.ai Value Blueprints, this gives clients a faster, lower-risk path to activating AI across their manufacturing and supply chain operations—not by layering it onto legacy structures, but by embedding it into how they operate from day one.”
From retail pilots to plant floors
The EY-SymphonyAI relationship isn’t new. Same alliance, new sector. The two firms first paired up in 2023, with that arrangement built around generative AI applications for retail and financial services clients. This expansion carries the partnership into manufacturing environments for the first time.
SymphonyAI’s IRIS Foundry platform – aimed at industrial companies – has been trained on data drawn from more than 80,000 assets across manufacturing operations, according to SymphonyAI. For EY customers in industrial products, consumer goods, life sciences, and energy, the pitch is a single path to operational intelligence rather than a patchwork of point solutions stitched together plant by plant.
Prateek Kathpal, President of SymphonyAI Industrial, comments: “The industrial AI problem isn’t technical—it’s structural,” Kathpal says. “Manufacturers have proven AI works. What they can’t do is move it from one plant to the next without rebuilding everything from scratch.

Where the ‘Order-to-Cash’ blueprint fits
EY.ai Value Blueprints is the firm’s framework for building AI into operations from scratch rather than adding it to systems already in place. The design principle runs across end-to-end value streams instead of individual processes, which EY argues lets clients scale AI across connected manufacturing and business functions rather than confining it to isolated departments.
SymphonyAI’s manufacturing intelligence now sits inside the ‘Order-to-Cash Master Value Blueprint’, one of EY.ai’s flagship cross-functional offerings. In a manufacturing context, that value stream starts at asset performance and runs through materials planning. From there, it extends into supplier collaboration and procurement execution. One connected layer, in EY’s telling. SymphonyAI is positioned as the piece linking those stages, aimed at more coordinated, real-time decision-making.
Four outcomes are what EY expects clients to see from the integration. Materials requirements planning becomes more predictable once it runs on real-time production and asset data. Unplanned spend tied to equipment failure or production stoppages should fall, while supplier performance visibility gets tied directly to results across the supply chain. Pre-integrated technology accelerators round out the list, aimed at cutting the time it takes to see value and lowering the risk of fitting AI into structures that weren’t built for it.
SymphonyAI is the latest addition to what EY calls its ecosystem of AI-native technology partners, organisations built around AI rather than adapted to it after the fact. EY says these relationships let its teams deliver more integrated solutions across manufacturing operations, software delivery, and finance transformation, with the intended effect being shorter implementation timelines and lower delivery risk.
Pilot deployments have never been the hard part. Repeatability across dozens of sites, on SymphonyAI’s own account of the problem, is what the alliance now has to prove.
