Election prep: Speaking of the midterm elections, CNN revealed it will be hosting the Maine Democratic Senate Debate on Thursday, July 23, at 8 p.m. ET. In partnership with the Bangor Daily News, the two-hour debate will be moderated by CNN anchors Jake Tapper and Dana Bash, along with Michael Shepherd, the Bangor Daily News’ political director.
Revolving Door: Former The Washington Post scribe Brittany Shammas is joining CNN as a reporter for the national news team. Based in Washington, D.C., Shammas will focus on distinctive national reporting and storytelling that goes beyond the headlines.
Meanwhile, MS NOW announced that Brian Swarth is joining the network as a senior vice president of marketing. Swarth comes to the network from AMC Networks, where he was a svp of product strategy and business operations. In this role, Swarth will oversee audience growth strategies, consumer engagement, and brand marketing across MS NOW’s portfolio, including linear television, digital platforms, direct-to-consumer products, live events, and more.
