News12 has responded to the story about Annalisa Klebers claim that she was bullied and gaslit after asking for more money.

At News 12, we are committed to providing an inclusive and equitable workplace, and the wellbeing of our employees is a top priority. We take matters important to our employees seriously and thoroughly investigate all concerns that are raised, ensuring a fair and thoughtful process. We are also committed to providing support to our team members in times of need through resources such as our 24/7 Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and other comprehensive benefit services. We are firmly committed to maintaining a safe and supportive work environment, which includes a strict non-retaliation policy to protect our employees.

As it relates specifically to this matter, Ms. Klebers was provided generous benefits and services as an employee of News 12, including an extended leave of absence. News 12 did not terminate Ms. Klebers; she chose not to extend her leave of absence or to return to the workplace. These claims are entirely baseless, were filed a year ago, and we will continue to defend against them vigorously.

Klebers started working at News12 in 2018.

“There were days I would work from 4 a.m. until 5 p.m. to try and complete all of the additional work that was piled on to me. I was trying to make management happy and keep my job all while my contract and pay raise were being held over my head,” Kleber told Dailymail.com.

“There were belittling comments made, managers gaslighting me and criticizing things about my performance that just didn’t make sense,” she said. “They also ignored or put down my positive contributions to the shows. It felt like management wanted me to quit or react poorly to all the thing that they were doing to me.”

Klebers said the result of the treatment was a psychotic break, leaving here feeling suicidal.

“Her career was completely derailed, such to the point that she does not see any avenue back to an anchor desk, not at News12 or any media, any newsroom anywhere,” said her attorney, Anthony Mango. “This was brought about by her just making in good faith, raising an issue for the equal pay. “It’s really rendered her disabled.”
