Taika Waititi’s long-in-limbo Flash Gordon project has a grim update. Percy Jackson and the Olympians has found its Athena. Plus, HBO has a big tease of what’s coming from A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, Peacemaker Season 2, Welcome to Derry, and Dune: Prophecy. To me, my spoilers!
The Temple
Deadline reports Daniel Zolghadri (Y2K) is attached to star in The Temple, a sci-fi/horror movie from directors Yonah Lewis and Calvin Thomas. The story is said to follow “an orphaned millionaire (Zolghadri) [who] dedicates his life and considerable fortune to finding the ghosts of his parents with the help of a skeptical radiation scientist.”
Ridley Scott’s Alien
Ridley Scott suggested Alien: Covenant is ripe for a sequel during a recent interview with THR.
Covenant is the best one [for a sequel] because it leaves the girl in the [cryo pod] and [Michael Fassbender’s killer android] David has alien eggs and 2,000 colonists hanging around. It’s a perfect beginning.
Flash Gordon
During a recent interview with Collider, producer George Nolfi stated he’s currently “not too involved” with Taika Waititi’s long silent Flash Gordon remake.
I’m not too involved with that one. There are a couple of things coming up that I can’t talk about that I’m humbled to be involved with that I think would be in your realm of interest, but I’m not too involved with Flash Gordon at this point.

Wonka 2
Paul King provided Hey U Guys (via Screen Rant) with an update on Wonka 2.
We’re very early, I mean we’ve got about half of a draft. So, we’ve got a story that we like, and we know where we want to take him.
I’ll try to get some international travel in it. So maybe that’s the only tease I’ll give. But hopefully, I’ll get some air miles off this one.
Devil’s Stay
The body of a heart surgeon’s daughter is possessed by an ancient evil at her own funeral in the trailer for Devil’s Stay, opening in select US theaters this December 6.
