Samsung is already known for its high-quality smartphones, wearable tech and home appliances. But the brand is constantly releasing innovative devices, and the Samsung Galaxy XR headset is no exception. The new device is now available for purchase after much anticipation. Although there’s no current discount, Samsung is throwing in extras that add significant value. Order now and you’ll receive freebies worth $1,140, plus discounts of up to 30% on accessories you can bundle with this purchase.

Right now the Samsung Galaxy XR headset costs $1,800. This deal lasts until Dec. 31, which lets you grab this headset as a holiday gift for a loved one or for yourself.

CNET’s Scott Stein says of the Samsung Galaxy XR, “In the few hands-on minutes I was able to spend with Galaxy XR at Samsung’s demo in midtown New York, the headset felt like an open door for product ideas to come. The Galaxy XR is surprisingly lightweight and easy to use, with some exclusive apps that Meta and Apple would kill for.”

These apps include Google Gemini integration that lets you experiment with videos and photos using AI. Additionally, Samsung equipped the Galaxy XR with a Snapdragon XR2 Plus Gen 2 that powers the headset’s 4K resolution.

Here’s the list of free subscriptions you’ll get when you buy this headset, as well as how long they’ll last. Asteroid Experience and NFL Pro Era are full downloads, not subscriptions.

  • Google AI Pro (12 months)
  • Project Pulsar from Adobe (12 months)
  • YouTube Premium (12 months)
  • Google Play Pass (12 months)
  • Calm Premium (12 months)
  • NBA League Pass (2025-2026 season)
  • NFL Pro Era (full download)
  • Asteroid Experience (full download)
  • YouTube TV (3 months)

Keep in mind that the included free Google app subscriptions renew at their regular price once the trial period is over. You can cancel before each app’s trial period to avoid any charges.

To upgrade your experience, Samsung is also offering discounts of up to 30% on the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro if you bundle them with the Galaxy XR. That brings them to $175, down from $250.

Finally, Samsung includes every accessory you’ll need to make sure your headset stays charged and ready. That means you’ll get a USB-C to USB-C cable, wall charger, lens cleaning cloth, power cable, light shields and more. Shoppers who use prescription glasses or contacts can buy prescription lenses from Samsung separately for a starting price of $100.

Why this deal matters

The Samsung Galaxy XR went on sale Oct. 21 and marks an exciting new addition to the tech brand’s offerings. While the sizable price tag of $1,800 may be prohibitively expensive for some, it is half the price of Apple’s Vision Pro, which makes it a real competitor. Plus, the introductory offer includes subscriptions worth $1,140 and discounts of 30% on select bundled items, making it an even better value.
