There’s a new music video out that uses about $40,000 in iPhones that doubles as a practical Shot on iPhone demo.

Kroi, a Japanese multi-genre band based out of Tokyo, has used 40 iPhone 16 Pros to shoot the music video for their newest song, “Method.”

As a treat for fans, they also created a short video showcasing how the band set up the devices to make it happen. Apple’s senior vice president of marketing, Greg “Joz” Joswiak, shared the behind-the-scenes video via X.

As expected, there are a fair number of iPhones mounted in front of the band. But there are also iPhones attached to keyboards, guitars, and pointing down from the ceiling.

The music video has garnered 5.1 million views at the time of publication. It’s interesting to see the shots that were achieved, with many coming from overhead or an instrument-level view of the musician.

According to Spotify, the band has roughly 265,000 monthly listeners on the platform.

Multi-iPhone shoots may be on the verge of becoming the next big thing. Recently, the zombie horror flick “28 Years Later” used a custom-designed rig that utilized 20 iPhones for a single shot.
