In a recent interview with Elle, Hailey Bieber shared that her GRWM (Get Ready With Me) videos inspired the creation of Rhode’s latest product, Barrier Butter. She explained that she often talks about “sealing things in” beneath her makeup with a balm or using a “richer, thicker, balmier moisturiser,” this new product is her take on achieving that effect.

Elle reports that the Rhode Barrier Butter packs nourishing ingredients like hyaluronic acid, murumuru butter, polyglutamic acid, and ceramide NP. Hailey Bieber and her team collaborated closely to make the product suitable for individuals with sensitive skin. Formulated to be non-comedogenic, the Barrier Butter has also been awarded the Seal of Acceptance from the National Eczema Association.

Rhode’s Barrier Butter took nearly two years to develop, focusing on achieving the ideal balance of hydration and skin softness. Hailey Bieber shared that she aimed to create a rich, hydrating balm without any greasy feel. She explained, “I designed it to be safe for acne-prone skin while effectively targeting fine lines, plumping, and deeply hydrating the skin.” Bieber added that the approval process took time, but the product is finally launching this month.

The standout feature of this product is its versatility. Hailey Bieber highlighted that the Barrier Butter is “great not only for your face, neck, and chest, but also for hands, arms, or anywhere else you need it.” According to Elle, Bieber was keen to introduce a smaller version for easy portability, making it convenient to carry in a purse.
