Bulova Releases New Collection of Colourful Ceramic Watches

The Bulova Snorkel collection draws inspiration from the ocean’s depths and the recent success of the MoonSwatch.

Bulova is making waves with its new Snorkel collection, a vibrant and accessible range of dive-inspired watches designed for those who appreciate classic dive watch functionality and modern style. The collection blends a bold dive watch design with the innovative use of new materials, offering a compelling option for watch enthusiasts.

Building on its rich history in dive watches, including the legendary 666 Devil Diver, Bulova is charting a new course with these playful yet practical timepieces. Inspired by the enigmatic beauty of the ocean and its inhabitants, the collection also seems to acknowledge the market success of watches like the Swatch MoonSwatch and Blancpain’s Scuba Fifty Fathoms.

The true appeal of these non-metal watches lies not in their inspiration but in their affordability, playful design, and suitability for summer adventures.

Not only that, the Bulova Snorkel collection comprises four distinct models, each featuring a 41mm case crafted from the brand’s new ‘Hybrid Ceramic’ material. This composite is designed to be lightweight, scratch-resistant, comfortable against the skin, and adaptable to body temperature. Though Bulova hasn’t revealed the precise formula, it is believed to be a ceramic-plastic composition comparable to Swatch’s Bioceramic.

For the first time, Bulova incorporates its ‘Hybrid Ceramic’ material into the Snorkel collection, lending a luxurious feel to these accessible watches. The collection’s four models all feature luminescent hands and markers, a convenient date display, and water resistance up to 100 meters.

Designed for both comfort and style, the tropical-style perforated rubber straps, complete with easy-release mechanisms, are the perfect complement to the watch cases.

Each Snorkel watch embodies a different marine creature. The Sea Turtle, with its deep brown dial and green strap, reflects its beach and ocean habitat. The Clownfish bursts with orange and white colour. The Blue Tang mirrors the Caribbean reef fish’s vibrant blue and yellow. The Great White Shark exudes icy power in glacial grey and stark white.

Jeffrey Cohen, CEO of Citizen Watch America, explains that the Snorkel collection is designed to “celebrate the vibrancy of marine life and make luxury more attainable.” He adds, “By combining innovative materials with playful, ocean-inspired design, we hope to inspire a love for the seas.”
