Following a launch last month of Apple TV+ on Amazon Prime Video in the United States, the channel is now rolling out to additional regions.
Apple TV+ is now available to subscribe and watch within Prime Video in the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada. The pricing is the same as if the user subscribed through Apple directly.
By rolling out TV+ on Prime Video, Apple hopes to grow viewership for its originals, by reaching customers that don’t otherwise use the Apple TV app itself.
Subscribing to Apple TV+ through Prime Video as a channel allows users to add TV+ original shows and movies to their queue inside Prime Video, and watch directly on the Prime Video app on any device.
Financial terms between Apple and Amazon were not publicly disclosed, but presumably Amazon takes a cut of all subscriptions.
In a statement to Deadline, Apple SVP Eddy Cue said US customers have been loving the ability so far:
“Viewers in the U.S. have been loving the ability to subscribe to Apple TV+ on Prime Video and we’re pleased to now launch this offering in Australia, Canada and the U.K.” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s SVP of Services.
