Spotify has been incredibly busy over the past couple of days. After officially launching Page Match, it’s introducing About the Song, which it bills as “a new way to explore the stories behind music”.
This new feature puts short, swipeable story cards in your Now Playing view, which “explore the meaning behind the music you’re hearing”. The stories are summarized from third-party sources “to surface interesting details and behind-the-scenes moments”, the official press release states.
To see this, you need to open the Now Playing view and scroll down to find the About the Song card, which shows up on supported tracks. About the Song is in beta and currently rolling out on iOS and Android in English for Spotify Premium users in the US, UK, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, and Australia.
